Algol Chemicals, a leading distibutor of speciality chemicals in Scandinavia and Eastern European markets, has established a subsidiary in Minsk, the capital of Belarus. The company will operate under the name IOOO Algol Chemicals and focus on marketing chemicals primarily to the local paint and coatings industry.
Aleh Ioda, who has been appointed Director at IOOO Algol Chemicals, has already begun preparing and coordinating the operations of the sales office and warehouse facilities of the new company.
According to Fredrik Hansson, Algol Chemicals' Sales and Marketing Director for the CIS countries, expanding operations to Belarus will strengthen the company's coverage of the Eastern Europe markets and also create a unified region geographically. The company already has subsidiaries in several countries that border Belarus: Latvia, Lithuania, Russia and Ukraine. Algol Chemicals, which is specialised in wholesale and distribution of industrial and speciality chemicals, operates in a total of ten countries in Northern and Northeastern Europa.
