Melrob continues its rapid international expansion by opening an office in the USA

Melrob has announced the opening of an office in America; Melrob US Inc., located in Jacksonville, Florida to support the expansion of the company's business in specific industries. The move also means the company will be well positioned to take advantage of any revival in US manufacturing linked to cheap feedstock delivered from shale gas over the next few years.

Derek Price, Sales Director of Melrob Group, stated: “Opening an office in the US reflects the growth in sales and the need for a local presence. It is a small step but that is how each of our businesses started.”

The US office will be managed by Marc Jackson, Business Vice President and will initially focus on servicing the biomaterials, energy curing and methacrylate and acrylate monomer market sectors.

Melrob is one of the fast-growing UK-based specialty chemical distributors. Sales have increased from around €10M in 2006 to over €50M in 2011 with over 50% of the Group's revenue coming from international sales. Melrob recently secured 28th ranking in “The Sunday Times HSBC International Track 200”, a league table of privately owned companies with the fastest growing international sales over the last two years. This is the second consecutive year that Melrob has been ranked.
