Italian distributor, Nymco S.p.a. has acquired a 100% shareholding in Sides S.p.a, a speciality distributor of fine chemicals also operating in the Italian market. Milan-based Sides S.p.a was founded in 1973 and supplies chemicals to the paints, plastics, rubber and adhesives and sealants industries.
Sides is also a partner of Pluschem, a European network of independent distributor of speciality chemicals, with a turnover exceeding €230M Euros. Formed in 2000, PlusChem offers international producers an alternative to the large multinational distribution groups in marketing their products across Europe.
The combined operation will have a turnover in excess of €30M and nearly 40 employees. Nymco is expecting to gain a synergy from the acquisition in terms of a adding a significant number of new Principals which complement the company's existing product portfolio. The merger of Sides into Nymco is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
