Overlack Group buys UK-based specialty chemicals distributor Landsdowne Chemicals PLC
The UK-based speciality chemicals distributor Landsdowne Chemicals PLC has been acquired by the Overlack Group headquartered in Mönchengladbach, Germany. Under the terms of the deal, Overlack will also gain both Landsdowne's UK and Netherlands' operations, an office in China and a sales office in the US. All Landsdowne employees will be retained and the company will continue to operate under its own name.

Founded in 1977, Lansdowne Chemicals reported reveues of around EUR 75 million in 2014 and supplies a wide range of raw materials and ingredients including aroma chemicals, catalysts, rubber and coating intermediates, vitamins and amino acids as well as intermediates and APIs for the pharmaceutical, agricultural and biotech industries.
Besides the distribution and marketing of products, Lansdowne also operates a chemical manufacturing division (manufacturing specialized nitrated reagents) and a dedicated hydrazine hydrate dilution facility. In addition, Lansdowne recently opened a 7,000 m2 hydrofluoric acid dilation plant in Sherburn-in-Elmet, Yorkshire. Distribution and production facilities have multiple, ISO, COMAh, FAMIQS and GMP+ approvals.
The deal follows ‘hot on the heels’ of Overlack's acquisition of the Klink Group at the beginning of October 2015.
