US Maroon Group buys specialty chemicals distributor DB Becker
US specialty chemicals distributor Maroon Group LLC has acquired D.B. Becker Co., Inc., an East Coast, USA distributor of specialty chemicals based in Clinton, New Jersey, for an undisclosed sum. D.B. Becker's management team will continue to manage the business.

Becker was founded in 1954 and supplies raw materials for plastics, paints, coatings and other markets to nearly 1000 customers from Maine to Miami. Maroon President and CEO Mark Reichard said, “We are honored to complete this acquisition, which is our first step in a multi-tiered growth strategy. We believe the company is well-positioned to continue its strong growth and we look forward to leveraging each company's portfolio of products through our expanded geographic footprint.”

The deal comes just over a year since private equity firm, CI Capital Partners LLC acquired a majority stake in the Maroon Group. At the time, CI officials said that Maroon was well-positioned to grow organically and through acquisitions.
