Brenntag acquires Spanish industrial chemicals distributor, Quimicas Merono
Brenntag, the global market leader in chemical distribution, has acquired Quimicas Merono S.L., a distributor of industrial chemicals based near Cartagena, Spain. The company has a strong coverage in the Murcia region, which is a solid part of the main Mediterranean industrial axis, focusing on logistics, blends and storage services to its industrial customers. With the acquisition, Brenntag gains some additional distribution assets including 1000m2 of tank storage for liquid chemical products and a 3000m2 warehouse with blending facilities. The transaction is effective May 13, 2015.

In the financial year 2014, the acquired business has generated total sales of EUR 12.7 million and had 36 employees. Brenntag is the 2nd largest distributor in Spain behind Quimidroga.
