Caldic completes acquisition of The Ingredient Company, Canada
International distributor and producer of food ingredients and chemicals, Caldic B.V., has completed the acquisition of The Ingredient Company, a leading distributor of savoury and nutrition ingredients based in Mississauga, Canada. The Ingredient Company was founded in 1992 and supplies flavours, spice extracts, condiments, gelatine and natural fruits and vegetables to the food manufacturing industry across Canada from its sales office and registered warehouse facility in Ontario.

The deal is in line with Caldic's stated aim of becoming a leading North American food ingredient solution provider. The company entered the North American market place in 2012 with the acquisition of Nealanders International Inc., a leading food ingredient distributor in Canada with locations in Mississauga, Montreal and Vancouver which now operates as Caldic Canada Inc. as well as a location in Chicago now operating as Caldic USA Inc.
According to Mr. Olav van Caldenborgh, CEO of Caldic B.V., the combination of The Ingredient Company and Caldic “makes us an even more strategic business partner to our customers and forms another pillar for potential growth for our company”. The acquisition also strengthens Caldic's flavour and natural ingredient solutions beyond its current activities in North America.
