Established UK chemical distribution business sold to German trader Scheruhn Industrie Mineralien
Gower Chemicals Limited (“Gower Chemicals”) has announced that it has been acquired by Scheruhn Industrie Mineralien (“SIM”), a well-respected, family owned German trading company.

Established in 1978, Gower Chemicals is a chemical distribution business head quartered in Swansea, Wales which offers a diversified portfolio of chemicals, related processing of chemicals including blending, refridgerant packaging and environmental services. Following this transaction Gower Chemicals is now part of an integrated hydrofluoric value chain, which is operated through German based Fluorchemie Stulln GmbH and Fluorchemie Dohna GmbH (together “Fluorchemie”), owned by the Scheruhn family. Fluorchemie (http://www.fluorchemie.de) is a leading producer of Hydrofluoric Acid in Europe and key supplier to Gower Chemicals.

Gower Chemical's shareholders were advised on the sale by PwC's corporate finance team, law firm Geldards and Broomfield & Alexander for tax advice. The owners decided to sell due to retirement.
