Oy Chemsec Ab acquires fellow Finish specialty distributor, Geb Products Oy
Oy Chemec Ab, based in Espoo (Finland) has acquired the business of GeB Products Oy in Helsinki, Finland, the purchaser recently announced in a statement. Several employees of GeB Products have transferred to Chemec effective 1st September 2011. The combined business will have a turnover in excess of €8M. No details regarding the transaction value were disclosed.

GeB Products Oy distributes specialty chemicals primarily to the pulp & paper and coatings industries and helps Chemec strengthening their position as a supplier of products and services to the paper industry. Products specifically supplied are dyes for paper manufacturing and antraquinone for pulping.

Chemec was founded in 1987 and together with their associated companies suppply specialty chemicals to Nordic, Baltic and Russian markets. Its main products are industrial and special chemicals for various fields of use but primarily pulp and paper industries. Chemec's also has a subsidiary Ch-Polymers Oy that manufactures and markets styrene acrylate, polyvinyl acetate, vinyl acetate acrylate and all-acrylate latices for the paper, board and nonwoven industries.
