Group Overview

The Azelis Group has a number of International Business Units that focus on providing products and specialist technical services into the coatings, plastics, rubber, composites, food, pharmaceutical (human and veterinary), cosmetics, and performance sectors. In addition, the local companies maintain their existing focus in specialist areas such as electronics, water treatment and detergents as well as providing a range of general chemicals.

The strategic plan is to build a European market-focused specialty chemicals distribution group by organic growth and selective acquisition of dynamic, successful, entrepreneurial companies that share the same culture of service, ethics and human values coupled with specialist knowledge and expertise.

Azelis was set up in August 2001, bringing together Groupe Arnaud in France and Novorchem Distribuzione in Italy. Since its formation, Azelis has so far acquired Chance & Hunt and Pan Polymers (UK), ChemVerga (Italy), Champoiseau (France), Kraemer & Martin (Germany), Sibeco Group and Sepulchre (Belgium) and Impex Quimica (Spain). Brown & Gillmer (Ireland), Brøste (Nordic) and Rhodia Hellas (Greece, Croatia). The sales for the group in 2007 were around EUR 1.1 billion.
